After tak off from Hawkins Field Airport the single engine plane that was heading to the Federal Aviation Administration saftey conference. A police officer of Jackson had looked up into the sky and he said he had seen the Piper PA-32 "spitting and sputtering" like it had no fuel left. They claim one of the pilots asked to return to the airport but just a few moments later went down the plane. Before it hit the house it slammed into trees and then quickly caught to fire. Then sending black huge flames through the place of most single-family homes. Their homes were surrounded by oak trees and magnolia. One person said that her and her son were able to escape they were taken to the local hospital and the mom was reported in good condition and her son was not hurt. Emily Latham noted that her father was supposed to be on the plane but he chose to go hunting. She said thank God that he decided to go hunting otherwise he would not have been here!
